Today I am miserable.. I have had digestive problems going on a year and am ready for something drastic.
I spent several hours scowering the internet and came up with this diet plan.
I am going to chart my progress or lack there of on this page..

Digestive Cure Diet
No Carbonated DrinksNo Coffee
No Refined Sugars- cakes, cookies, pies, sugary cereals, sugary drinks, “added” sugar
No Protein ‘with’ potatoes or pasta
Avoid all processed foods if possible
Drink lots of water- at least 8 glasses daily
Green tea daily
No alcohol (loaded with sugars)
If you consume alcohol
Eat one cup of yogurt for every 2 alcoholic drinks
Drink 8 oz of water for every 2 alcoholic drinks
No fried foods.. light sautee ok… olive oil or light margarine
Foods that will help:
Red beets
Sweet Potatoes
Cod Liver Oil
Avocados
Oats
Lightly steamed vegetables
Recommended for short term help:
Activia
Speeds digestion of foods:
Apple Cider Vinegar
Mustard Seed
I will start tomorrow (6/25/10) and post daily and then decide if it’s worth continuing…
Day one…
Ok giving up the coffee was tough… otherwise, had a pretty good day.
No improvement yet but it’s only day one.
One good thing is… I am actually hungry which I haven’t been in quite awhile.
I went to the dollar store and replinished my supply of vitamins.. I got B-12, Calcium with D, and I got some green tea pills in case I don’t do the tea every day.
Day Two
Ok.. starting to feel something…
No fireworks yet but will keep you informed…
Stayed on the diet today as well.
Day three
Finally some action and it feels great.
Still feel some bloating though so I think this will take a while.
My friend also told me about a coffee that isn’t coffee and has probiotics, antioxidants, and is all natural too boot… I was skeptical about the taste but it actually tastes good… She said she has only seen it at Earthfare but I am going to do some research… I will come back and add more info when I have it.

OK I am on about day 6 and well it has been up and down… It has been helpful with getting me to the point where I know what hurts me and what doesn’t. I have come to the unhappy conclusion that I need to give up sugar and red meat… so I am going to try my best to do that the next few days and see what happens. I do believe in the Activa.. if you can afford it… it does work after about a week and a half… maybe just drink one every other day…??

ok.. I am on about day 14 and wow what a difference.. I have learned that I can’t have the following foods:
Heavy Breads
Fried foods
Only very small quantities of red meat
No cake or cookies or bread/sugar combinations
I have also learned that volume really matters…. If I eat a large quantity of food… I will pay.
OK… it has been 1 month and here is what worked
Avoid processed sugar especially in breads, cakes, donuts
Avoid large quantities of red meat, I feel that most likely avoiding red meat altogether would even be better
Avoid large quantities of anything.. large volumes of food are a big no no
Avoid stress.. this is the hard one but it really matters.. do some deep breathing, get some exercise, meditate, whatever works
Avoid fried foods ( a small order of fries ok now and then) but NO for the most part
Avoid spicey heavy foods.. No pizza (maybe a tiny slice now and then), No heavy italian or mexican foods
Drink lots of water
Get lots of green vegetables.. steamed is best
that’s it.. I have lost 7 lbs and am 90% improved with the stomach issues….
I intend to stay that way… feel free to let me know what works for you
